Glenn M. Gangwer, Jr., 77, of Indianapolis, went to be with the Lord April 18th, 2007. He was born February 23, 1930 to the late Glenn Morris and Mildred M. (Cummings) Gangwer, Sr. in Dayton, OH. Glenn was on the National HonorÂ’s Society at Roosevelt High School. He was a Champion Roller Skater, placing 2nd in the National Jr. MenÂ’s Freestyle and an accomplished Marimba player, performing for several engagements around Dayton. Glenn was a member of St. AlbinÂ’s and served on the vestry and sang in the choir. He believed a great deal in missionary work and was the last plane out of Haiti with Dr. Grover Boling when Papa Doc was over thrown. He married the love of his life, Gloria Pixler in 1953 in Dayton, OH after graduating from the University of Cincinnati, College of Pharmacy. Glenn was drafted into the armed forces in 1954 and was sent to Ohm, Germany until he was honorably discharged in 1956. Upon leaving the military, Glenn worked for Gallagher Drugs in Ohio as a District Manager until the company was sold. He was offered a position with HookÂ’s Drugs in Indianapolis and he and his family moved here in 1964. Glenn was a Pharmacist for the HookÂ’s Drugs in the Meadows for several years and transferred to the CVS at 82nd and Allisonville Road, where he retired from. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, where he served as an usher, counter and member of the Bible Study Fellowship, and also the American Pharmacy Association.Glenn is survived by his wife of 54 years, Gloria Ann (Pixler) Gangwer; daughter, Teresa Gail (Michael) Hall; son, Dennis Mark (Carolyn) Gangwer; grandsons, James Robert Hall, Kelsey Glenn Gangwer, Griffin George Gangwer, and Spencer Doyle Gangwer. Memorial Service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, Indianapolis, IN, at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 23rd. Memorial contributions may be made to JoyÂ’s House, 2028 E. Broad Ripple Ave., Indianapolis, IN, or St. Vincent Hospice, 8450 Payne Rd., Indianapolis, IN. Glenn was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. The family would like to thank Westminster Village, St. Vincent Hospice, JoyÂ’s House and Trinity Episcopal Church for their love and care.
